What employees often ask us
Can't find your question? Call or email us. There are no silly questions.
+31 85 620 58 00Do I have to tell my employer what is wrong with me?
No. Your employer may not ask about your diagnosis or the cause. You do say how long you expect to be away, what you can still do and how you can be reached.
Will I still be paid while I am ill?
Yes. In the Netherlands your employer keeps paying your salary while you are ill, for up to two years. How much exactly is set out in your employment contract or collective labour agreement (cao).
What if I disagree with the company doctor?
Discuss it with the company doctor first. You may ask for a second opinion from another company doctor. If you and your employer disagree, you can ask UWV for an expert opinion (deskundigenoordeel).
Can I go on holiday while I am ill?
Always discuss this with your employer first. The company doctor is often asked for advice too. The trip must not get in the way of your recovery or your return to work.
What if my contract ends while I am ill?
You may be entitled to sickness benefit under the Sickness Benefits Act (Ziektewet). It is paid by UWV, or by your employer if they are a self-insurer (eigenrisicodrager) for the Ziektewet.
How is a reintegration plan made and carried out?
First we look at what you can still do. Then you and your employer draw up an action plan (plan van aanpak), with a goal and the steps to get there. Think of changes to your workplace or suitable work. Your case manager guides you through this.
What are the options for adjusted work?
There is more possible than you might think: fewer hours, adjusted tasks, temporary other work within the company, or even reintegration with another employer. React2u is happy to help with a reintegration plan that suits you.
Can I contact React2u myself?
Yes. If you have a question about your support or an appointment, feel free to call or email us. Medical questions are for the company doctor.
